About

Dr. Tara D. Wallace is more than a therapist – she’s a healer, a change agent, and a fierce advocate for the Topeka community. Whether she’s in a therapy session at the park, a school hallway, or attending a community meeting, Tara creates spaces where people feel seen, heard, and empowered to heal.

As a licensed clinical social worker and trauma therapist, Tara specializes in supporting individuals and families impacted by child welfare. She is also the visionary behind Lighthouse Therapeutic Community Outreach Foundation (TCOF), a non-profit born at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. When families in East Topeka needed support, Tara stepped up with case management and care coordination to ensure they had what they needed to navigate the overwhelming challenges posed to their health and safety.

For Tara, this work is deeply personal. Born and raised in East Topeka, she understands the importance of community, resilience, and creating opportunities where none existed before. Her commitment to justice, equity, and healing drives everything she does, from securing funding for underserved schools to mentoring the next generation of mental health professionals.

Beyond her clinical and advocacy work, Tara is an artist and a powerful voice for change. Whether through writing, public speaking, or simply standing up for what’s right, she moves with purpose and speaks with conviction.

At the heart of it all, Tara believes in the power of community, the necessity of healing, and the right for every person to be supported on their unique personal journey. If you’re looking for compassionate mental health services, advocacy, or simply a space to be heard, you’ve found the right place.

Welcome to a community that cares. Welcome to the work of Dr. Tara D. Wallace.
